{"id":3646,"date":"2018-10-11T11:02:00","date_gmt":"2018-10-11T15:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.arnoldmagnetics.com\/?p=3646"},"modified":"2021-12-09T14:10:38","modified_gmt":"2021-12-09T19:10:38","slug":"improved-testing-of-molypermalloy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.arnoldmagnetics.com\/blog\/improved-testing-of-molypermalloy\/","title":{"rendered":"Improved Testing of Molypermalloy and other High Frequency Materials"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>At Precision Thin Metals,<\/h3>\n<h4>a Division of Arnold Magnetic Technologies.<\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<p>At Arnold, we like demanding applications and we\u2019re always up for a good challenge!\u00a0 Fortunately, our customers have obliged and provided a number of new applications for our materials.\u00a0 In order to better predict material performance in these applications, we have updated and extended our testing capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>This year we have added a new electrical steel test system that can measure iron losses up to 20kHz.\u00a0 The system will also allow us to characterize performance on standard Epstein Frames, Torroids, and Single Epstein Strips.<\/p>\n<p>The setup is excellent at testing electrical steels up to 20kHz, but we also have a number of applications that operate at much higher frequencies.\u00a0 For these applications, we have commissioned the construction of a High Frequency Response Tester.<\/p>\n<p>The High Frequency Tester will give us Real and Imaginary permeability results from 1MHz \u2013 2.5GHz.<\/p>\n<p>For customers interested in materials such as our Molypermalloy, the High Frequency Tester will allow us to adjust the material\u2019s response by altering our processing conditions.\u00a0 The output of the High Frequency Tester (shown below) will indicate how the Molypermalloy will perform at different frequencies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-fluid alignleft wp-image-3647 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.arnoldmagnetics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Molypermalloy-High-Frequency-Testing.png\" alt=\"improved testing of molypermalloy nickel\" width=\"334\" height=\"249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.arnoldmagnetics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Molypermalloy-High-Frequency-Testing.png 1379w, https:\/\/www.arnoldmagnetics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Molypermalloy-High-Frequency-Testing-300x224.png 300w, https:\/\/www.arnoldmagnetics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Molypermalloy-High-Frequency-Testing-768x573.png 768w, https:\/\/www.arnoldmagnetics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Molypermalloy-High-Frequency-Testing-1024x764.png 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 334px) 100vw, 334px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Amorphous Materials such as the Molypermalloy can also be tested with the Amorphous Strip Tester.\u00a0 This will give us performance data from zero to 20kHz which we can then couple with the High Frequency Tester\u2019s 1MHz-2.5GHz results.\u00a0 These capabilities still leave an analysis gap from 20kHz to 1MHz, but we\u2019re currently working on new techniques to help fill this gap.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btn blue\" href=\"https:\/\/www.arnoldmagnetics.com\/materials\/nickel-irons-soft-magnetics\/\">Click for more about Nickel Irons &amp; Soft Magnetics.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At Precision Thin Metals, a Division of Arnold Magnetic Technologies.
