The presentation will discuss permanent and soft magnetic materials that improve performance in motor and generators.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"mce-hs-more\" style=\"height: 20px !important;\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Permanent magnet motors are inherently more efficient than induction-type motors. With increasing demands for smaller, lighter weight and more powerful motors comes a continuing challenge of minimizing heat build-up. Newer magnetic materials exhibit improved performance as a function of temperature. Improved soft magnetic flux return path materials are also being investigated. The presentation will examine current material characteristics, advantages and limitations and point the way to future enhancements.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees will learn:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why the materials function the way they do<\/li>\n<li>How to select the materials for optimum performance<\/li>\n<li>What the potential is for improved hard and soft magnetic materials and when they might be available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The presentation will be about 35 minutes followed by a brief Q&amp;A.
